Dearest scarf,

You will not defeat me. You bundle of soft wool that becomes unsoft once knit, you will not win. It may take me 20 minutes to knit one inch of you, but it is summer; I have free time. You shall be knit. Yes, I have been working on you for a month. And, yes, you are not yet two feet long. But I will knit you, darn it.

Believe it, wool.
